Like a handyman for crafts, decor, & events

You have the screenshot, the oddly specific theme, or the blank space that needs one memorable thing. We make custom backdrops, balloons, signs, favors, candles, and one-off decorations — and for local events, we can deliver and set up what we make.

Based in Westerly, Rhode Island, with local delivery and setup in Rhode Island and nearby Connecticut. Shippable custom orders can travel anywhere in the United States.

Where to begin

Pick a place to start.

Three ways in. Most projects turn out to be one of these, and a few turn out to be all three.

Make the room.

Backdrops, balloons, signs, tables, favors and the details that need to work together. For projects involving several pieces or on-site setup.

Give it a focal point.

Rent something we already built, customize it for the day, or ask us about building the thing that doesn’t exist yet.

Make the specific thing.

Signs, favors, shirts, glasses, candles, gifts, props, and requests that don’t have a clean category.

Who’s making it

It stopped being a candle thing.

It started with candles. Then somebody needed a sign to go with the candles, and then forty favor bags, and then a seating chart, and at some point it stopped being a candle thing.

We like the specific stuff — the joke only that group of friends will get, the name spelled the unusual way, the exact green somebody had in their head. That’s most of what we do now.

Vicandyls is Vicky Ferraro and Dylan — two makers sharing the work. The table it happens on is a dining table with newspaper down. Wax gets everywhere regardless.

The specificity is the whole product.

Most things can be bought generic. We’re interested in the part that only makes sense for this person, this room, this Saturday.

How it works

What happens next.

  1. Tell us the occasion, date, location and rough idea.
  2. We confirm availability and shape the idea with you.
  3. You get the scope, price and timing in writing.
  4. We make it, deliver it, or set it up — depending on the project.

On Instagram

Honestly, we’re just havin’ fun here.

Most of it goes up on Instagram first — half-finished, wrong color, fixed by morning.
